The purpose of the CBD College Associate of Applied Science in Vocational Nursing Program is to prepare competent vocational nurses who can provide direct client care in all settings where nursing takes place under the direction of the licensed professional nurse and physician.

Choosing this option will enable the graduates to enter the nursing field as a Licensed Vocational Nurse upon completion of the course and obtaining licensure.

At the completion of the program, the graduate vocational nurse will recognize the physical, social and emotional needs of the client and family. By utilizing the nursing process, the graduate will actively participate in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating safe, competent nursing care.

Completion of the General Education requirements for the AAS Degree program will help transfer to an educational program for Registered Nursing, when a student chooses to continue climbing the career ladder.
